Roger Lindgren

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Roger Stanley Lindgren, 77, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, peacefully at home with family.

Roger was born May 20, 1944, in Iron Mountain, the son of Elmer and Marion (Roell) Lindgren. He graduated from Niagara High School in 1962 and went on to attend barber school.

He married Susan Etka on Dec. 4, 1971, and they shared 50 wonderful years together. Roger moved to Green Bay, finding work at El-Franz Barbershop. Roger had many years of enjoyment meeting new people and providing the hair, beard, and psychiatric services that come along with being a barber.

Roger has known many of his clients for decades, and throughout his +50 year career these close friends had become a second family to him. Coming to the shop to meet with his customers was not work, it was a getaway he looked forward to every day.

As a father, Roger was a patient and compassionate teacher, supporting his kids in all of their activities. He was the best cheerleader anyone could ask for — celebrating and promoting the successes of his children and being a conduit for advice in times of need. Aside from his wife, family, and customers, Roger loved cheering on the Packers, and spending time with his dog Winnie.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Karl (Michelle) Lindgren; his two daughters, Kristen (Tommy Landwher) Lindgren and Kimberly Lindgren; and six grandchildren, Ahna, Tristan, Nikolas, Maryn, Lukas, and Isak.

Roger was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Swanson; brother, Franklin Lindgren; and his parents, Elmer and Marion Lindgren. Private family services will be held.

Ryan Funeral Home in De Pere, Wis. is assisting the family.
