VULCAN — David Daniel Carlson, 54, a lifelong resident of Norway, passed away unexpectedly in his home from natural causes on Oct. 13, 2021.

David was born in Norway on March 28, 1967, the son of Daniel Carlson and the late Christine (Treves) Carlson.

He graduated from Norway High School in 1985 and attended Michigan Technological University.

Over the years, he worked for Lofholm’s Building Center, Hometown Building Supply, Sturgeon Mill Works and as a custodian for the Norway-Vulcan Area Schools.

Dave married Jennifer Carter on Aug. 22, 2020, in Norway.

He was a devoted father to his children and to Jen’s sons, an avid hunter and sportsman, and he loved to ride his Harley with Jen and all their friends.

He was an avid dart player for the North Star Bar in Niagara, and he enjoyed being surrounded by his friends. He was one of the handiest people in a town and you could always count on him. He will be sorely missed by everyone.

David is survived by his wife Jennifer; his children, Jacob (Ashley) and Haley (Ariana) Carlson; stepsons, Preston, Alex, and Brent Dumke; grandchildren, Ali Mae, Weston, Ashton and Carter; his father, Daniel (fiancé Phylliss) Carlson; brothers-in-law, Doc (Patty) Carter, Terry (Renee) Carter and Kevin (Tyann) Carter; his ex-wife, Tina Gendron; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Carlson.

Family will greet friends on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

After there will be a bike ride (weather permitting) and a celebration of Dave’s life at the North Star Bar in Niagara.
