Michael G. Wheeler

He was born on April 4, 1967, in Crystal Falls, to Beverly (Anderson) and the late Richard Wheeler.

Michael grew up in Crystal Falls and graduated from Forest Park High School, class of 1985. After graduation, he attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., where he obtained an associate’s degree in mechanics, Class of 1988.

He married Angie Franz on Nov. 11, 2016. Michael served with the United States Army from 1984-2009 when he was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Iraqi Freedom Mission in Kuwait and of VFW auxiliary post 2891.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was very passionate about mechanics and working in his garage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie (Franz) Wheeler; sons, Brandon Wheeler and James Wheeler; step-daughters, Nola McDowell and Amber McDowell; mother, Beverly Wheeler; brothers, Richard (Tamra) Wheeler and Ronald (Susan) Wheeler; sister, Melissa (Raymond) Steele; grandchildren, Russell Sundell, Grayson Wheeler, and Gracelynn Wheeler; father and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Toni Ann Franz; brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Erin Franz; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. The funeral service will be Saturday, noon, at the funeral home.
