IRON MOUNTAIN — Eunice Christine (Windell) Barnes, of Twin Falls, Breitung Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital from complications of a stroke.
Eunice was born Nov. 13, 1931, in Aurora, Wis., daughter of the late Einar and Ann Windell. Eunice married Albert “Doc” Barnes on June 18, 1949, in Kaukauna, Wis. She worked at the Pine Mountain Ski Shop but her favorite job was being a wife and mother. Eunice was an avid gardener with beautiful flowers, fruits, and vegetables. She made the best raspberry pies. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family.
Eunice leaves her four sons, Jeff (Karen) Barnes of Pulaski, Wis., Steven (Katharine) Barnes of Iron Mountain, Kelly (Jane) Barnes of Wausau, Wis., and Corey (Lynn) Barnes of Iron Mountain; grandchildren Christopher (Melanie), David (Eva), and Nicholas (Vanessa) Barnes, Kristina (Jeremy) Calnin, Derek (Ali) Barnes, Devin (Krista), Brian, and Dylan (Sarah) Barnes, and Jason and Travis Barnes; great-grandchildren Noah and Jack Barnes, Vivien and Isabel Barnes, Christian Griffin, Emmett Calnin, Bryor Barnes, and Adalynn Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Einar and Ann Windell; husband Albert (Doc) Barnes; siblings Glen Windell and Audrey Johnson; three infant children, Gene Robert (1949), Cheryl Christine (1951), and Ann (1955); and a special daughter-in-law, Joni (Uren) Barnes.
Pallbearers are Eunice’s grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., with the Rev. Matthew Ruesch officiating the funeral service at noon. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
