Loan Closet grateful for Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Bouquet

From Diane Schabo, president of the Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet, Kingsford:

What a wonderful community we live in. The Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet continues to be amazed at the generosity and compassion shown to our local residents battling cancer.

The most recent fundraiser was the Edwards Automotive Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, where more than 560 men, women and children gathered together for a 4-mile fun walk to honor breast cancer survivors while also raising $8,500 for the Cancer Loan Closet. In addition, Edwards Automotive sponsors the First National Bank & Trust, BOSS Snowplow, Systems Control and the Dickinson County Healthcare System, should be thanked for making donations on behalf of each of their employees who participated and assisted in raising additional funds.

I cannot begin to tell you how proud we at the Cancer Loan Closet are of our local residents, our businesses and our cancer survivors. Your financial support continues to give our clients a sense of hope when their days appear to be the darkest. You are the bright light that shines in their lives and for that, we thank you!

Wife received great care at Dickinson hospital

Bouquet

From Don Wolfe, Iron River:

On Sept. 18, my wife broke her leg and I took her to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to the Sunday afternoon emergency room shift, the second-floor nurses/staff, the lab/x-ray staff, the surgical staff and Drs. Ochetti and Veal for the outstanding, compassionate and professional care they gave my wife.
