401 Club says thanks for help in becoming more accessible

Bouquets and Barbs

Bouquet: A long-awaited addition to the building at 401 S. Kimberly Ave. took place May 15. The “401 Club” is a non-profit association that hosts 12-step meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, Adult Children of Alcoholics and hopefully will support more in the future. The club is now handicapped-accessible, with a new sidewalk, separate entrance and stair lift.

The 401 Club would like to thank so many people and businesses from our community that generously donated their time, efforts and materials. Thanks to Joe Arcand for wood forms; Eric Laitila and Timmy Curran, who prepared wood for installation; Larry Smith from Smith Steel for use of the Bobcat; Tool Time Rental for providing a soil compactor; and Champion Concrete for concrete. And thanks to all who came out to shovel, pour, smooth, rake, “supervise” or whatever you did to help.

Well done! A true testament to a giving community.
