Sugar Popp's nephew eyes NFL post

The nephew of Iron Mountain’s Bill (Sugar) Popp may be in line for a National Football League general manager position.

Jason LaCanfora of reports “longtime Canadian Football League general manager Jim Popp is getting traction in some of these searches. He has already met with at least one NFL owner, I'm told, and has more things lined up.”

LaCanfora believes the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers may be interested in Popp, runner-up to Ryan Grigson for the Indianapols Colts general manager post a year ago.

Jim Popp is the son of the late Joe Popp, a successful coach at all football levels.
