Wrestling welcomes participants

February 20, 2013 - Burt Angeli
Experience isn’t really a must for high school wrestling.

Norway High School’s Mid-Peninsula Conference and MHSAA Division 4 regional champions feature wrestlers relatively new to the varsity sport.

Jake Rehn, Jordan Neumann and Pat Guffey are first-year grapplers. Zac Decremer and Tim Huddleston are freshmen with area junior wrestling experience.

The Knights also have a pair of dual sport competitors in Jake Wetsel (swimming) and Garrett Bonetti (jayvee basketball).

Wetsel is a senior and two-year wrestler with “outstanding work ethic.”

“If Garrett were to wrestle full time, he would be a hand full for his opponents,” Norway Coach Nick Burklund said.
