D of I Circle 367 meets on April 5

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daughters of Isabella Congress Circle 367 will hold their next meeting on Thursday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at the I.C. Faith Formation Center with hostesses Peg St. Louis and Lucille Massie.

All members, prospective members and guests are welcome to participate.

Regent Marcene Fuse opened the March 1 meeting of Circle 367 at the Center. The meeting was opened with prayer by Chancellor Louise Plante and the opening ode was sung. Regent led in the pledge to the flag and to the state of Michigan.

Chancellor Louise gave a spiritual reading on the Apostles. Apostles are messengers of God and Jesus chose his 12 apostles from a group of 72 disciples. We are called to be Apostles, Harolds of good news. Lenten thoughts read by Regent Marconi conveyed all need to atone for our ways and to regain our vision.

Secretary Peg St. Louis read correspondence received from Jo Syrjanen, Juanita Frostell, Shirley LaBocki and Rose LaHaie.

The Hail Mary persons for March are Rev. Fr. Ray Valerio, Charlotte Gordon and Rosemarie Lundell. Cards will be sent to them.

The drill was had for the good of the order and obligation was taken by the members.

Invitations were received from two circles who will be celebrating their 75th anniversaries in Bad Ax, Mich. and Caseville, Mich. Congratulations cards will be sent to them. The Regent reminded members that the Circle 367 is the oldest in the state of Michigan having been formed in April 1926.

It was announced by Regent Marcene that there are two Masses scheduled. First on Wednesday, May 2, at 12:15 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church for Mother's Day and on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 12:15 p.m. at I.C. for deceased members.

The birthday song was sung for Louise Plante whose birthday is March 8 and Betty Mitchell on March 18. Lydia Peruzzi who is at Hyland will be 99 on March 18.

"Open My Eyes Lord" was recited by all present and the closing prayer said joining of hands in unity and the closing D of I song sung.

Lunch was served by Marcene Fuse and bingo was played with several winners.
