Dickinson Chapter of MARSP to hold kick off meeting Sept. 20

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Dickinson Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel will kick-off the membership's year of activities with a special speaker Branko Bojijec, manager of Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance for retired Michigan Public School personnel on Thursday, Sept. 20.

The event will begin with an 11 a.m. to noon social hour with coffee provided and a cash bar available. Scott Furlow will be providing music during the social.

The luncheon will be served at noon. Reservations are required. The cost is $13 and includes chicken broccoli stir fry, beverage, cherry short bars and gratuity. An alternate of chef's salad or plain chicken breast is available if specified when making reservations.

Branko's presentation will follow lunch. He will bring updates and take questions to the meeting. Legislative updates will also be given.

This event is open to all MARSP members, spouses and any retired Michigan public school employees. If you are a retired Michigan public school employee and have never attended a MARSP luncheon you are invited to be Dickinson Chapter's guest. Those should call Germaine Edwards at 774-1150 or Kate Thomas at 774-5220 for their free luncheon.

Members will be contacted by Thursday, Sept. 13, at noon by their caller. If you haven't been contacted by them call Carole Wilcheck at 774-5053.

All additional reservations or cancelations must be made by Monday, Sept. 17, at noon at 774-5053. If you made reservations and cannot attend send your dinner payment with a friend and have them pick up your meal.

Any retired Michigan public school employee may call for reservations.
