Two arrested in sex offender sweep

GLADSTONE - Two Menominee men were arrested for failing to verify their address after a sex offender sweep was conducted Oct. 16 through Oct. 18.

In a cooperative effort and as part of the Ninth Annual Statewide Operation Verify, the Michigan State Police and the Menominee Police Department conducted the sex offender sweep.

The sweep resulted in the arrest of a 58-year-old Menominee man for failure to verify his address and failure to change his address. A 31-year-old Menominee man was also arrested for failure to verify his address and for residing in a school safety zone.

Failure to change address is a felony punishable by up to four years in prison and failure to verify is a 93-day misdemeanor.
