Hundreds of women celebrated the seventh annual Bras for a Cause auction at Sol Blu Lounge in downtown Iron Mountain on Thursday night. This year the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union volunteers took over organization of the event which has become a popular tradition in raising public awareness of breast cancer.
Local "bra artisans" decorate and donate bras, and they are auctioned off to the delight of the crowd.
The top bra "The Singing Sisters," sold for $210. It was designed by JoAnn Poncino and was made in honor of Margaret Thibert.
Kingsford Roller Derby Girls modeled 100 bras as Col. Dan Samson auctioned all of them off. The Iron Mountain bar was packed for the auction.
