CRIVITZ, Wis. - Freshmen Brooklyn Wolosyn drained four treys and scored a game-high 16 points for Niagara in a season-opening 48-33 victory over Crivitz Tuesday evening in M&O Conference girls basketball.

"It was an awesome win for us," Lady Badgers head coach Laura Gunderson said. "We did an outstanding job of pushing the ball up the court. We had good ball movement, and defensively we did a good job of stepping into passing lanes."

Niagara came up with 18 steals, led by Wolosyn and Maryellen Wagener, who each tallied five.

Kaitlyn Lundin also scored in double figures for the Lady Badgers with 14 points.

Niagara overcame a sluggish third quarter that saw Crivitz pull within three points by outscoring the Wolverines 17-6 in the fourth.

Jen Kempka's 11 led Crivitz.
