IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daughters of Isabella Congress Circle 367 is meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. at the I.C. Faith Formation Center with Marcene Fuse and Lorraine Jacobs as hostesses.

All members are encouraged to attend and become active. Guests and prospective members are always welcome.

Regent Marcene Fuse opened the first meeting of 2013 Jan. 4 for the D of I Circle 367 by wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

Chancellor Louise Plante led the opening prayer as all members joined in and the opening song was sung.

The draping of the Charter by Regent Marcene and Chancellor Louise was held in memory of Nelda Fornetti and Elaine Radloff, long time members, who passed away in December. "Oh What Could My Jesus Do More" was sung for them.

The pledge to the flag and to the state of Michigan was led by the Regent.

Chancellor Louise gave a spiritual reading written by Mother Teresa entitled "Do It Anyway" emphasizing forgiveness, be kind and give the world the best you have.

Correspondence was received and read from Liz Holmquist, the Nelda Fornetti family, the Carmelite Sisters and St. Vincent de Paul conference.

Financial secretary Betty Simon reported on the Christmas party. The annual luncheon was held on Dec. 13 at the Chippewa Club with members and two guests, Dorothy Schinderle and Olga Sartori. Regent Marcene welcomed all and Chancellor Louise presented the legend of the Red and White Candy Cane. Monsignor James Kaczmarek, chaplain, gave the blessing. Following the luncheon, songs were sung and bingo played with cash winners. In keeping with past years, monetary donations were made to the Carmelites and St. Vincent de Paul and paper products to the Caring House.

The "Hail Mary" prayer for the month of January will be offered to the members who are in the nursing home and those ill or housebound.

The obligation was taken by the members and the drill was had for the good of the order.

"Facts and Figures" of the New Year for those around the world by Julius Caesar was read.

"Open My Eyes Lord" was sung, the closing prayer said by all present with hands held in unity as the closing D of I song was sung.

Lunch was provided by Arlene Robinette and Louise Plante followed by cards. Peggy St. Louis won first in push and Marcene Fuse, second.

The 2013 dues of $15 are now past due and should be remitted to Betty Simon, 520 E. Grant St., Iron Mountain, MI 49801, as soon as possible. This would be appreciated to eliminate contact by mail or call 774-3590.
