NEGAUNEE - Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Marquette County man found near a burned vehicle Wednesday, State Police from the Negaunee Post reported.
The victim is identified as Samuel Louis Longtine, 56, of Skandia.
An autopsy was conducted today at Marquette General Hospital by the Marquette County Medical Examiner.
A specific cause of death is pending toxicology results.
The investigation into the incident and autopsy have revealed no signs of foul play, police said.
Troopers believe the incident and death were accidental in nature.
Longtine was discovered by State Police dead lying near his burned pickup truck on Wednesday morning after being reported as missing from his residence the evening prior.
The investigation revealed he was likely plowing snow on his property when his vehicle caught fire, police said.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post were dispatched to a report of a missing person complaint in Skandia Township at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday
On the way to take the report, Longtine was found dead outside of his vehicle.
The missing vehicle and body were located within a mile of Longtine's residence on County Road JH in West Branch Township.
