Joyce Grams

IRON MOUNTAIN - Joyce M. Grams, 86, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

Joyce was born June 12, 1926, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Garfield and Mary (Maki) Sjoquist. She was a resident of this area her entire life and attended Iron Mountain Schools. After graduation, Joyce worked for Cutler-Hammar Corp. in Milwaukee, Wis. She married Gordon Grams on July 20,1946. Joyce worked in the church office at Immanuel Baptist for 30 years. She loved entertaining family and friends. Joyce was very active in Christian Fellowship Group, teaching Sunday school, and in women's ministries. Her passion was reading.

She is survived by a son, Jere (Re') Grams of Laguna Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Karen (Bob) Knight of Iron Bridge, Ontario Canada; a brother, Dale (Mary) Sjoquist of Wausaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren, Ryan Grams, Nicolette Grams, Suzanna (Seth) Willingham, Michelle (Randall) Daniels, and Ann (Eric) Henderson; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna, Madison and James.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Shoquist; and two sisters, Mary Alice Keenan and Hazel Heikkinen.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral home.

Funeral services will follow Saturday at noon at the funeral home. Rev. Ronald Wolfe will officiate.

Burial will be at Homestead-Aurora Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
