GOODMAN, Wis. - Kathern A. Kasakaitas, 64, of Goodman, passed away on Oct. 19, 2013, at her home under the care of her family and Unity Hospice.
She was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Armstrong Creek, Wis., to Walter and Eleanor (Staron) Christnovich.
Kathern graduated from Goodman High School. She married Gary Kasakaitas on Sept. 21, 1968. Her love for sewing led her to a career as an upholsterer. She also loved fishing. In 2001 Kathern and Gary began building their home in Goodman, working hand in hand during vacation time and weekends.
Kathern is survived by her husband, Gary of Goodman; mother, Eleanor of Goodman; a daughter, Sheri (Alan) Penkala of Appleton, Wis.; a son, Mark (Wende) Kasakaitas of Elk Mound, Wis.; a sister, Jean Klatt of South Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, Robert (Judy) Christnovich of Neenah, Wis.; and her grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, Jaron, Katelyn, Elliot, Marquis, Landon and Mikayla. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter; and brothers: Daniel, and Walter Jr.
A memorial service for Kathern will be held at a later date.
