Duane Barnard of Iron Mountain and his wife, Pat will take part in the 11th annual fall Holiday Gift and Craft Show held at the American Legion in Iron Mountain on Saturday. Duane has a wide variety of hand-made and customized ice fishing, fly, spinning and casting rods and fishing lures, and Pat has machine-quilted pot-holders. The couple operated the Aurora Sports Shop beginning in the 1970s for about 15 years. That is where Barnard sharpened his skills to become a craftsman of fishing equipment.

The event will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $1, which entitles each person to a chance at a drawing for $50.

A wide selection of gift and unique antique will be available from participating vendors. Some items include Depression, Victorian, cut and pressed glass, table top radio, serving trays, cast iron fry pan and Dutch oven, lots of collectibles, Rada Knives and more.

A drawing of a Green Bay Packers football autographed by the Packers will be held.

"This would make a very nice Christmas gift," said Kathie Fayas of the Friends of the Museum.

Crafters from the area will be offering interesting and quality items at affordable prices at this year's event.

Some of their sales include Wild Trees Mixes, Tastefully Simple, Joan's Deluxe Granola, Amway, and Jamberry Nails.

Other items for sale include candles, table decorations, crocheted items, quilted items, various styles of jewelry, bibs, lighted wine bottles, logos, winter accessories, blankets, holiday decorations, hair pieces, sewn and crocheted items, sport coasters, magnets, vitamins, gift cards, make up, Origami, lamp posts, hand-painted items, bird houses, Aurora hand-made fishing poles and tackle, glass etching pieces, custom designed shirts, along with other personalized items.

The public is invited to attend this fund-raising event.

"This is a good opportunity to do some early holiday shopping at great prices," Fayas adds. "Whether purchasing or browsing, show support to your museums by attending this fund-raiser for the World War II Glider and Military Museum Project."
