LINDEN - Lexi Gussert, a 5-foot-11 senior middle hitter who powered Forest Park to the Class D state semifinals, has been named to the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association's Class D all-state first team.
Gussert, one of eight Class D first team selections, tallied 467 kills and 88 blocks on the season.
The Michigan State University basketball recruit also posted 97 ace serves, 101 digs and 13 assists.
Gussert's teammate, sophomore setter Maria Stankewicz, received honorable mention.
The U.P. was represented on the all-state third team by Alexis Johnson of Stephenson and Tabitha Graham of Brimley.
