ISHPEMING - Three Iron Mountain wrestlers finished 5-0 and the team wound up 2-2-1 in the Westwood Super Duals on Saturday.
Alex Edwards (three pins 125), Jared Gauthier (one pin at 130) and Aaron Bolo (two pins at 145) chalked up perfect marks.
"It was a decent day of wrestling," Iron Mountain Coach Brandon Rutter said.
Gauthier rallied to beat Hunter Moore of Marquette, 12-8.
"Jared Gauthier had an excellent match," Rutter said. "Gauthier was down after the first period and he was able to control the match the rest of the way.
"Aaron Bolo had an excellent tournament."
The Mountaineers also wrestled Corbin Henkel, 4-1 record with two pins at 135 pounds; Steffan Petricca, 3-2 with one pin at 140; Jake Weslin, 4-1 with four pins at 152; Travis Wright, 1-1 with one pin at 215; Braydon Fitzpatrick, 1-1 with one pin at 215, and Devin Farragh, 1-2 with one pin at 215-285.
"Both Jake Weslin and Corbin Henkel had lost in overtime against Marquette in close matches and should be seeing the same opponents (tonight) at Kingsford," Rutter said.
Iron Mountain defeated Negaunee, 36-30, and Gwinn 42-12; tied Escanaba, 36-36, and bowed to Marquette, 48-18, and Westwood, 42-27.
"Overall, the team did well," Rutter said. "We were able to come back and beat Negaunee after losing to them (on Thursday)."
