POWERS - Morgan Wells scored a career-high 26 points and the North Central Jets coasted past Rapid River 55-28, Friday night in a dual conference matchup.
Wells, who nearly outscored the Rockets single handedly, also hauled in 15 rebounds in the victory and shot 10-of-14 from the floor.
"Morgan had a really good night," said Jets head coach Tyler Swanson. "It was parents night and our last regular season home game, so it was nice to see Morgan have a nice game to finish it off, her being a senior."
The Jets (7-11, 7-5 CUP, 5-5 Skyline) led 30-14 at halftime and held Rapid River (0-17, 0-13 CUP, 0-11 Skyline) scoreless in the third quarter.
"We played really good defense," said Swanson. "We full-court zone trapped them and caused many turnovers while taking care of the ball ourselves. We only had 10 turnovers and shot 20-of-51 for the game. Anytime you're shooting anywhere close to 50 percent, it really helps."
On Monday night, Rapid River travels to North Dickinson while North Central plays at Bark River-Harris.
