IRON RIVER - The public is invited to a mini health expo on Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Iron River Senior Center, 814 4th Ave.
Blood pressure checks will be conducted. Talks on stretching your food dollar by Sylvia Lindwall, registered dietitian will be held. There will be nutrition talks with related snacks and coffee.
State Trooper Geno Basanese will present a program titled "Keep Seniors Driving Safe." The goal of the presentation is to help keep older drivers driving safely for as long as possible.
The presentation is about self-assessment, effects of medication, warning signs, ways to improve driving and much more.
Steve Cline, M.D., orthopedic doctor from Northstar Health System will also talk about managing joint pain.
The Expo is hosted by the Iron County Authority on Aging, North Star Health System and the Michigan State Police.
