Girls basketball: Niagara hosts Phelps in WIAA tourney
NIAGARA, Wis. — Fourth-seeded Niagara will host Phelps to open the WIAA Division 5 regional tournament.
The Badgers (15-5) and No. 13 Phelps (3-15), winless in the Northern Lakes Conference, will meet Tuesday, Feb. 20. Start time is 7 p.m.
The Niagara-Phelps winner will meet No. 5 Gillett or No. 12 Goodman-Pembine (3-16) in the regional semifinals Friday, Feb. 23. The Tigers host the Patriots in another regional opener Tuesday.
Tenth-seeded Florence (7-11) travels to No. 7 Lena for the first regional test. The winner travels to No. 2 seed Elcho.
Oneida Nation earned the No. 1 seed for the regional.
