Knights edge Superior, 46-42

Girls Basketball

EBEN — Norway rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Superior Central 46-42 in Skyline Central Conference girls basketball Wednesday.

“Tonight was a true team effort,” said Norway head coach Joe Tinti.

The Knights (6-13, 4-6) trailed 35-32 after three quarters. Jaclyn Bal hit a three-pointer and four other Knights scored in the fourth quarter to spark the comeback.

“The girls played hard tonight,” said Tinti. “We got into a hole in the first quarter while we were trying to find our legs after the bus trip.”

Norway trailed 13-8 after the first quarter.

“We had a lot of girls contribute,” Tinti said. “We put three solid quarters together.”

Norway had 16 turnovers in the game.

The Knights will honor seniors Karli Stanchina, Teiona Fuson, Kayte Casanova and Mikayla Faull during Friday’s final regular-season home game with North Central.

Norway won the junior varsity game.
