Gold Medal tourney to have junior division
HERMANSVILLE — The 80th Gold Medal Classic basketball tournament will include junior high boys and girls divisions.
Junior high teams are guaranteed two games in the legendary Community Center Gym. The entry fee is $85.
“We are celebrating our 80th year of the tournament and the committee thought this would be a chance for young people to play in the Gold Medal Classic,” said tournament director Raymond Bray.
The tournament takes place Thursday, April 5, through April 15 at the Community Center gym. Entry deadline is March 31.
The independent basketball tournament, established in 1936 by the late Joe Rodman, also features men’s and women’s divisions.
