L’ANSE — Senior center Steven Nelson and junior guard Caden Pellizzer of West PAC co-champion West Iron County have been named to the all-league boys basketball first-team.

Calumet junior guard Matt Ojala was selected West PAC Player of the Year. WIC’s Dan Schive and Calumet’s Mike Ojala shared coach of the year.

West Iron and Calumet split games during the season and finished with 7-1 records.

Joining Nelson and Pellizzer on the first-team are George Butvilas and Bradley Sirard of Houghton; Travis Ojala of Calumet; and Reese Waara of L’Anse. A tie in the voting created a six-member first-team, according to a league representative.

West Iron junior forward James Swanson and senior guard Neil Tomasoski made the West PAC second-team with Devin Raasio and Joe Watson of Hancock; and Cooper Twardzik of Calumet.

Honorable mention went to Elijah McParland of Calumet and Alec Rajala of L’Anse.
