Young Niagara golf team shows promise

High School Golf

NIAGARA, Wis. — Six golfers comprise the 2018 Niagara High School roster.

Three letter-winners are senior Josh Goudreau, a three-year player; junior Cole Brown, two-year player; and sophomore Brooke Schwedersky. Newcomers to the team are sophomore Brady Steinbrecher, freshman Julia Brown and freshman Jon Phillips.

“We are a very young team that will greatly miss Tristin Colenso,” Anderson said of the graduated team leader for the past three years. “However, we have two very capable golfers in Josh and Cole. They both performed well last year, and I look to them to step into the leadership role and golf consistently.”

Niagara hopes to start the season Saturday, April 28, at the famed Whistling Straits course in Sheboygan.

“Our younger golfers are showing promise and potential in practice,” Anderson said. “They are quick learners and eager to pick up the sport of golf. I look forward to watching them grow this season.”
