Bret St. Arnauld named Mount Horeb/Barneveld football coach

Former Niagara High School football star Bret St. Arnauld has moved on to a new head coaching position.

Mount Horeb/Barneveld, a Division 3 school located near Madison, announced this week that St. Arnauld is the football program’s new head coach. He coached the past three seasons at Delavan-Darien.

“We are very excited to have Bret join us,” Mount Horeb activities director and associate principal Kolleen Nesheim told Madison.com.

Mount Horeb/Barneveld players took part in the interview process. Nesheim said they “felt a special connection with St. Arnauld.”

The son of Niagara High School coaching greats Carol and Dan St. Arnauld set Badger and Northern Elite Predators rushing records in high school.

After playing football at Saginaw Valley State. St. Arnauld coached at Utica Eisenhower in Lower Michigan.

St. Arnauld takes over for Ryan Kleppe, who left as Vikings football coach in March. He posted a two-year record of 17-4. The Vikings finished the 2017 season one game behind WIAA Division 2 state champion Waunakee in the Badger North Conference.
