Track and field: Norway boys 1st at Nordic Invite

FELCH — Inocencio Stankevich swept the hurdles as Norway’s boys captured the second annual Nordic Booster Club Invitational track and field meet Tuesday.

The Knights, 122, held off North Central, 112, in the nine-team meet.

Stankevich won the 110-meter hurdles (15.38) and 300 hurdles (44.21). Knights senior Connor Ortman took the long jump (18-0.5) along with runner-up in the 400 behind Stephenson’s Montell Glover (51.97).

Glover also won the 100 (10.97), 200 (23.06) and anchored the 1600 relay (3:47.74).

North Central’s Connor Robinson ran to firsts in the 1600 (5:15.75) and 800 (2:17.28).

In the girls meet, Stephenson grabbed first with 121 points. The host Nordics placed second with 105.

Amanda Starzynski led the Eagles with wins in the 100 (13.03) and 200 dashes (27.47).

Brianna Smith led the Nordics, winning the 1600 (6:18.37) and 800 (2:50.74) runs.

Nothwoods Storm’s Khalajia Hannah and Ki’Eircidy Hannah each won two events. Khalajia was first in the 400 (1:03.33) and long jump (15-1.05); Ki’Eircidy, discus (91-2.5) and shot (30-7).
