Mountaineers sweep Ishpeming
ISHPEMING — Iron Mountain used a height advantage to sweep Ishpeming 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-13) in West PAC volleyball Thursday.
The Mountaineers collected 39 kills throughout the evening with Riley Poupore, Emma Thomann and Mackenzie Swanson leading the way.
On the defensive side, Mountaineers back row tallied 42 digs. Kalli Balmes, Olyvea Galeazzi and Jacqui Rollins were the leaders.
“Our team has been working on several different rotations,” said IM coach Jeanne Newberry. “Tonight gave us the chance to put those different rotations into action.
“We continue working on our communication and movement in practices and matches.”
Mountaineer JV and freshman teams also won 2-0 over the Hematites.
Iron Mountain visits Norway on Tuesday.
