Football: Flivvers beat Wausau East, 28-7

Terrian runs, throws for TDs to lead Kingsford

WAUSAU, Wis. — Kingsford quarterbacks accounted for three scores as the Flivvers downed Wausau East 28-7 in a nonconference game Saturday.

Senior quarterback Luke Terrian ran 18 yards for one score and threw five yards to fullback Noah Wilcox for the other. Backup quarterback Tyler Kopp closed out the scoring with a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Flivvers (2-3) claimed a 14-0 halftime lead after Trevor Povolo went nine yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Povolo led the Flivvers with 107 yards rushing on 11 carries.

The Lumberjacks (1-5) were held to 28 yards total offense in the first half and didn’t score until the final two minutes of the game, when they scored on a hook-and-lateral. Quarterback Jack Kane passed to Trey Buchberger, who flipped the ball to Donovan Leverette for a 74-yard score.

Kingsford had three touchdowns nullified by penalties including rushing and passing touchdowns by Terrian and a Povolo run.

The Flivvers had nine penalties for 85 yards in the game.

An interception by Tyler Beauchamp at the Lumberjack 20 set up the first score, an 18-yard run by Terrian. Logan Normand kicked all four PATs.

The Lumberjacks, who had 166 yards in total offense, reached the Flivver 12 on the first series of the second half but missed a 27-yard field goal. They also had a TD pass nullified by penalty in the third quarter.

A 50-yard pass from Terrian to Hunter Lindeman to the 2 set up the scoring pitch to Wilcox in the fourth period.

The Flivvers posted 359 yards in total offense, with Terrian completing 11 of 23 passes for 156 yards. Beauchamp had five receptions for 76 yards.

The Flivvers return to Great Northern Conference play, hosting Marquette on Friday.
