Football: Jets shut down Trojans, 52-28

CRYSTAL FALLS — Noah Gorzinski threw for three touchdowns, ran for two more and returned a kickoff for another as North Central defeated Forest Park 52-28 in a Great Lakes Eight Conference game Friday.

“We were just outmatched,” said Forest Park coach Dave Graff.

The Jets built a 38-6 halftime lead, breaking the game open in the second quarter on a pair of scoring passes and a 51-yard Gorzinski jaunt.

Forest Park’s Nate Johnson returned the second half kickoff 66 yards for a touchdown, only to see Gorzinski answer with an 83-yard return of his own.

“They were fast, physical,” Graff said. “We have to get better.”

Gorzinski finished 10 of 18 passing for 176 yards and three TDs. The Jets had 274 yards on the ground.

Johnson was Forest Park’s leading rusher, totaling 83 yards and two TDs. Tommy Peltoma, who rushed for 58 yards, also had a TD. Evan Hedtke scored on a 10-yard touchdown run for the Trojans and led the defense with eight tackles and three assists.
