IRON RIVER — West Iron overcame a sloppy start and defeated Lake Linden 26-6 in West PAC football Friday.

Bryant Schram had touchdown runs of 37 yards in the third quarter and 30 yards in the fourth as the Wykons pulled away.

“We struggled in the first half with penalties,” said West Iron head coach Mike Berutti. “In the second half we were more disciplined and played much better football.”

Zach Quintero and Blake Lindberg also had touchdown runs for the Wykons, who led just 7-6 until late in the third quarter.

Dakota Hawkes led the defense with 7 tackles. Quintero had six and Nate Thomson five.

Schram rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.

West Iron (5-1) travels to Ishpeming on Saturday, Oct. 6.

“We’re going to be challenged next week,” Berutti said.
