Scoreboard donated to Kingsford Youth Football
KINGSFORD — Kingsford Youth Football recently installed a scoreboard at its Lodal Park playing field.
The scoreboard was donated to Kingsford from the Portland Tackle Football Association in downstate Portland.
“This was facilitated by Todd Veale whose brother Kevin is the athletic director at Portland High School,” said youth football coach Mike Floriano, noting Kevin Veale put Kingsford Youth Football in contact with Pete Hoffmeyer of the Portland Tackle Football Association.
Kingsford Youth Football expressed appreciation to local businesses who donated time and material to refurbish and install the scoreboard. The organization recognized Kingsford City Council, Michaud Trucking, Zam’s Body Shop, NAPA Auto Parts, United Sign Company, MJ Electric-Drilling Division, Coleman Engineering, RC Fabricators, Champion Concrete, Sorny’s Crane Service, Hometowne Lumber and Jim’s Music.
Kingsford Youth Football also cited coaches Mike Floriano and Jason Gendron for donating numerous hours to coordinating and installing the scoreboard.
Kingsford Youth Football is a member of the Central Upper Peninsula Youth Football League. Bark River, Escanaba, Florence, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, North Central, Norway and West Iron County are other teams in the league.
