Football: Kingsford’s Mann makes 1st team offense, defense

ESCANABA — Kingsford senior Andrew Mann earned two spots in Great Northern Conference football voting conducted by league coaches.

Mann was named to the first-team offensive and defensive lines. The senior was among five Flivvers receiving GNC first-team honors — Cole Galeazzi, offensive line; Trevor Povolo and Luke Terrian, offensive back; and Tyler Beauchamp, defensive back. Galeazzi and Beauchamp also received honorable mention at defensive end and split end, respectively.

Quarterback Craig Kamin of Escanaba is the offensive player of the year and linebacker Dan Martin of Gladstone is the defensive player of the year. Lineman of the Year went to Alex Cannoot of Marquette.

Dave Howes of Escanaba shared coach of the year honors with Dave L’Huillier of Marquette after the teams shared the GNC title with 3-1 records.
