Boys basketball: Badgers notch 1st win, rout STAA 66-13

NIAGARA, Wis. — Niagara broke into the win column Tuesday by downing St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 66-13 in M&O Conference boys basketball Tuesday.

The Badgers (1-9, 1-5) held a 36-10 halftime lead.

“We started out sluggish but once we picked up our defensive intensity we forced numerous turnovers which led to some easy baskets,” said Niagara coach Jim Hoogland. “Our offense was much more consistent and we had great balanced scoring.”

Tristan DeJardin scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the second half. Ethan Sweig had 12 points while Landen Kaldor and Austin Tripp each had 10.

The Badgers travel to Gillett on Thursday.
