KINGSFORD — Brooke Kriegl’s 20 points led Kingsford in a 56-36 non-conference win over Ishpeming on Thursday.

The Flivvers (10-7) spread the floor with the transition game to help pace the offense.

“We were able to get our transition game going tonight, which help create some good offense,” Kingsford head coach Lisa Harry said. “It was nice to see us running the floor with a purpose. We had a great second half of basketball both offensively and defensively. Our defense did a better job in the second half limiting their threes. I was happy with the energy, hustle, and teamwork on display tonight. We played with a more aggressive, refuse to lose attitude. This was a much needed team win for us.”

Madisyn Mead led Ishpeming with 15 points.

“In the first three quarters I thought we did a good job controlling Kriegl and their flow,” Ishpeming head coach Ryan Reichel said. “We were down and had to do some things to get the pace up, but Brooke being as talented as she is, she was able to create fouls. She got our guards in foul trouble.”

Kingsford led 19-18 at halftime and then outscored Ishpeming by eight in the third quarter. The Flivvers added an 11-point cushion by outscoring the Hematites 17-6 in the fourth to seal the game.

Kingsford JV won.
