Girls Basketball

GWINN — West Iron County, led by Eden Golliher’s 23 points, downed Gwinn 58-46 in West PAC girls basketball Friday.

Golliher scored 10 first-quarter points as the Wykons (12-2, 7-2) held a 15-14 lead.

“Nice victory after a long road trip,” said Coach Eric Shamion, whose Wykons opened up a 22-20 halftime lead with a 21-11 advantage in the third quarter. “Our outside game really came alive in the third quarter. The girls played very physical defense in the second half.”

Colbi Laturi, who hit three triples, and Anna Malmquist each chipped in nine WIC points.

The Wykons travel to Hancock on Monday.
