HANCOCK — Norway High School seniors Allie Sheski and David Loomis made some noise at the UP Ski Finals at Mont Ripley.

Loomis and Sheski raced third and fourth, respectively, in morning slalom. Alex Heigl placed ninth in the field of 18 male racers and Jake Munn slid out of the course resulting in a DNF.

In afternoon giant slalom, it was Sheski’s turn to lead with a fifth-place finish and Loomis trailed with a seventh.

Loomis ended the season with a spot on the All-UP team.

“It was great to see the two seniors finish strong at their final race,” said Norway coach Steve Sheski. “They were ready for today and the weather was the best it has been all season.”

As a team, Norway finished second in slalom, just one point ahead of Houghton. With two DNF in giant slalom, Norway dropped into fourth. Ironwood took second and Houghton was third. Champion Marquette races in the state meet Monday.
