Baseball: Hansen, Badgers beat Wausaukee

WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — Anthony Hansen struck out 12 and the Niagara Badgers blanked Wausaukee 6-0 on Tuesday to advance in the WIAA Division 4 playoffs.

“Probably best game of the year,” Niagara head coach Dean Neveau said. “Kids made the plays when they did hit the ball.”

Hansen gave up three hits and walked one to go along with his 12 strikeouts.

Wausaukee made two errors that allowed two Badgers’ runs to score in the first. Hansen added an RBI single in the third.

Wausaukee made two more errors in the sixth to allow two more Niagara runs.

Elliot Peterson hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to put a bow on the Badgers’ win.

Josh Weber had two hits including a double for Niagara.
