KINGSFORD — Abby Richer and Paige Olson each scored two goals, leading Kingsford in a 5-0 win over Marinette on Monday.

“We played our best game of the year,” Kingsford head coach Jon Lorenzoni said. “We dominated possession and held the ball in Marinette’s defensive side of the field for most of the game.”

The Flivvers scored twice in the first half and added three more in the second half to put the game away.

Christina Englund scored Kingsford’s other goal, her first of the season.

“It was nice to see Christina get one,” Lorenzoni said. “She’s such a solid defender. She doesn’t get to play up front very often.”

Lorenzoni said his team is settling into its identity.

“We’ve been playing really good soccer these past few weeks,” he said. “We’ve got a very young team, and we’re kind of finding ourselves. I’m proud of the girls. They played well tonight.”

Kingsford closes out the season hosting rival Iron Mountain on Thursday.
