Norway Peterson Electric edges Kingsford Lions to capture third straight Major interleague crown

NORWAY — Norway Peterson Electric held off the Kingsford Lions 2-1 to win a third straight Little League Major (age 11-12) baseball interleague championship.

In the second inning, Norway tallied two runs when Cole Baij singled and scored and AJ Gallino also scored after drawing a walk.

In the sixth inning, Gavin Trevillian singled and scored on a Noah Trulock base hit for the Lions.

“The game was dominated by pitching and good defense on both sides,” said a Norway team spokesman.

Norway starter Cole Baij and Landon Amundson combined to hold Kingsford to four hits. Lions pitchers Andres Finley and Trevillian checked Norway to four hits.

Norway and Kingsford both finished the season at 12-1. The Lions defeated Norway 2-1 during the regular season.
