Bobcats stay undefeated

FLORENCE — Bringing their record to 3-0 on the season, head coach Kent Walstrom’s Florence Bobcats defeated Three Lakes 50-0 in non-conference 8-man football Friday night at Robert Landry Field.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Bobcats exploded for 38 second quarter points.

“Am I glad had a efficient statistician tonight, everything was happening so fast in the 38-point second quarter” said Walstrom.

Offensively for the Bobcats, Kaden Schuls rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Quarterback Toby Wheeler added 112 yards on 9 carries, and William Liebergen added 41 yards and a touchdown on nine carries of his own. Late in the forth quarter, Corbin Behrmann scored on a 60-yard run.

Liebergen added a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown and five tackles on defense. Wheeler also had an interception to go along with six tackles. Austin Hoey chipped in five tackles, while Schuls led the team with eight tackles on the night.

Florence travels to Sevastapol next Friday night. “We’re looking forward to the long bus trip to Door County next week” said Walstrom.
