ISHPEMING — West Iron generated some offense but had little to show for it in a 28-0 loss to Ishpeming on Friday in West PAC Iron Division football.

The Wykons (5-2, 4-1) trailed only 6-0 at halftime but were plagued by turnovers and stalled drives.

A 46-yard pass from Trey Bociek to Nathan Thomson put the Wykons inside the 10 in the first half but a penalty nullified a subsequent touchdown.

Ishpeming (5-2, 4-1) took the lead when John Corkin returned the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. A 77-yard drive in the third quarter made it a two-score game.

West Iron had 198 yards of offense while the Hematites totaled 256.

The Wykons will host Gwinn on Friday.
