Simmons Skyline’s top player
RAPID RIVER — The Skyline Central Conference Girls Volleyball coaches met on Monday, to select the 2019 All-Conference Volleyball team, at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River.
The conference is split into two divisions by enrollment, with Carney-Nadeau, 10-0 in conference play, crowned Small School Division champions. In the large school division, Stephenson was champion with an 8-2 record.
Forest Park senior Mercedes Simmons was selected as conference Player of the Year. Simmons’ teammate Sydney Honkala, also a senior, was selected to the First Team. Senior Brianna Smith of North Dickinson joins the pair of Lady Trojans on the First Team. Fellow Lady Nordic senior Skye Ledzian was selected to the second team.
Area girls selected honorable mention are Norway junior Olivia Stanchina, North Central senior Madalynn Dani and Forest Park senior Kelsey Ragio. The full list of selections and special awards follow:
