EBEN — The North Central boys wasted little time taking charge in a Skyline Central Conference basketball game here Monday night, posting a 62-34 victory over the Superior Central Cougars.

North Central led 16-6 after the first quarter and 34-20 at halftime.

Noah Gorzinski hit five 3-point shots and scored 20 points for the Jets in their season debut. Brien Gronmark sank four trifectas and added 14 points and Luke Gorzinski had 10. Kyle Frusti scored 14 for the Cougars (0-2).

“We shot the ball well in the first quarter,” said Jets’ coach Mike Malone. “We played fairly well overall. Noah had a real good game. He and Brien shot the ball pretty well.”

The Jets, who also won the jayvee game, host Carney-Nadeau Thursday. The Cougars visit Munising tonight.
