Mountaineers paste Manistique, 77-28

MANISTIQUE — With Marcus Johnson and Foster Wonders each scoring 25 points and everyone on the roster getting into the game, Iron Mountain improved to 2-0 with a 77-28 win over Mid-Peninsula Conference foe Manistique in boys basketball Monday night.

“We got off to a good start, with 27 points in the first quarter. We ran the floor well and played great defense throughout most of the game,” said IM head coach Bucky Johnson. “Everyone got to play, an overall good night for us.

IM had 18 steals as a team, led by Marcus Johnson with six and Ricky Brown with four.

The Mountaineers, 1-0 in both the Mid Pen and West PAC Conferences, travel to Norway on Friday to face their long-time rival in a non-conference game.
