WIAA Girls Basketball Tournament — Niagara handles Lakers in Round 1
NIAGARA, Wis. — In a WIAA girls basketball Division 5 round 1 sectional matchup, No. 3 seed Niagara blasted No. 14 seed White Lake 57-7 at home Tuesday night.
Lady Badgers senior Cassie Gill led all scorers with 11 points, while Jaida Maki added nine points. Destany Bourassa snared 10 rebounds off the bench.
The Lady Lakers were back in the postseason for the first time in three years, having opted out of postseason play the past couple of seasons.
Niagara (15-8) remains home for the next round of WIAA sectional play. The Badgers host Three Lakes on Friday night at 7 p.m. Three Lakes defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 70-25 Tuesday night.
