LANSING — The Division 2 Boys All-State team was announced Wednesday evening. The UP had a handful of players selected to the team.

Houghton’s Brad Simonsen was selected to the first team. The 6’6 senior, a Michigan Tech recruit, led the UP in scoring with over 32 points per game.

U.P. players selected as honorable mention were all from Delta County, Peyton Fedell and Carter Hudson of Escanaba, as well as Rane Castor and Cam Ballard of Gladstone.

Senior Carlos “Scooby” Johnson of Benton Harbor was named Division 2 Player of the Year. Johnson, who is a Butler recruit, was also selected as Mr. Basketball by the Michigan AP.
