Badgers fall to L-W
NIAGARA, Wis — In a non-conference softball game, Laona-Wabeno shut out the host Lady Badgers 7-0 here Friday afternoon.
L-W scored in every inning but two, as their defense and pitching stifled Niagara.
“Not our best game. The girls’ effort was there we just made a few mistakes in the field, we clean them up we are right in it,” said Niagara head coach Brad Richtig. “Give credit to L-W, they put the pressure on us. I wouldn’t mind taking another shot at them in regionals.”
The Badgers had four hits in the game, with two coming from the bat of Emma Broullire.
Senior Noelle Champagne pitched for Niagara, fanning three, walking three and allowing seven hits.
The Badgers remain home as they will face Marinette-Oconto Conference foe Lena-STAA on Tuesday for their final regular season home game. Niagara will complete the regular season Thursday at M&O foe Crivitz.
